A better, more positive Tumblr

Since its founding in 2007, Tumblr has always been a place for wide open, creative self-expression at the heart of community and culture. To borrow from our founder David Karp, we’re proud to have inspired a generation of artists, writers, creators, curators, and crusaders to redefine our culture and to help empower individuality.

Over the past several months, and inspired by our storied past, we’ve given serious thought to who we want to be to our community moving forward and have been hard at work laying the foundation for a better Tumblr. We’ve realized that in order to continue to fulfill our promise and place in culture, especially as it evolves, we must change. Some of that change began with fostering more constructive dialogue among our community members. Today, we’re taking another step by no longer allowing adult content, including explicit sexual content and nudity (with some exceptions).

Let’s first be unequivocal about something that should not be confused with today’s policy change: posting anything that is harmful to minors, including child pornography, is abhorrent and has no place in our community. We’ve always had and always will have a zero tolerance policy for this type of content. To this end, we continuously invest in the enforcement of this policy, including industry-standard machine monitoring, a growing team of human moderators, and user tools that make it easy to report abuse. We also closely partner with the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children and the Internet Watch Foundation, two invaluable organizations at the forefront of protecting our children from abuse, and through these partnerships we report violations of this policy to law enforcement authorities. We can never prevent all bad actors from attempting to abuse our platform, but we make it our highest priority to keep the community as safe as possible.

So what is changing?

Posts that contain adult content will no longer be allowed on Tumblr, and we’ve updated our Community Guidelines to reflect this policy change. We recognize Tumblr is also a place to speak freely about topics like art, sex positivity, your relationships, your sexuality, and your personal journey. We want to make sure that we continue to foster this type of diversity of expression in the community, so our new policy strives to strike a balance.

Why are we doing this?

It is our continued, humble aspiration that Tumblr be a safe place for creative expression, self-discovery, and a deep sense of community. As Tumblr continues to grow and evolve, and our understanding of our impact on our world becomes clearer, we have a responsibility to consider that impact across different age groups, demographics, cultures, and mindsets. We spent considerable time weighing the pros and cons of expression in the community that includes adult content. In doing so, it became clear that without this content we have the opportunity to create a place where more people feel comfortable expressing themselves.

Bottom line: There are no shortage of sites on the internet that feature adult content. We will leave it to them and focus our efforts on creating the most welcoming environment possible for our community.

So what’s next?

Starting December 17, 2018, we will begin enforcing this new policy. Community members with content that is no longer permitted on Tumblr will get a heads up from us in advance and steps they can take to appeal or preserve their content outside the community if they so choose. All changes won’t happen overnight as something of this complexity takes time.

Another thing, filtering this type of content versus say, a political protest with nudity or the statue of David, is not simple at scale. We’re relying on automated tools to identify adult content and humans to help train and keep our systems in check. We know there will be mistakes, but we’ve done our best to create and enforce a policy that acknowledges the breadth of expression we see in the community.

Most importantly, we’re going to be as transparent as possible with you about the decisions we’re making and resources available to you, including more detailed information, product enhancements, and more content moderators to interface directly with the community and content.

Like you, we love Tumblr and what it’s come to mean for millions of people around the world. Our actions are out of love and hope for our community. We won’t always get this right, especially in the beginning, but we are determined to make your experience a positive one.

So what does this mean?  This means that all “adult content” which includes any nudist/naturist tumblrs will get deleted as well.  So we’ll have to move from tumblr soon!

Why is it Necessary to Take Nude Photos of Oneself?

reposted from this blog: Why is it Necessary to Take Nude Photos of Oneself?

I have been wondering why I find it necessary to take skyclad photos, why anyone who is a naturist/nudist or someone who simply enjoys being nude. Why the images? Why are they posted to Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Flickr, or other social media sites? Having spent way too much time wondering about this, I think I may have arrived at an answer that fits many who are like me.

Images are there to help us, to help me, get out of our heads. They become a visible proof that we are more than just feelings and thoughts. There is an honesty, or at least an attempt at honesty, expressed in these images. Risking being vulnerable enough to be honest, is not the same thing as posting images for exhibitionist purposes. The images I am talking about have nothing to do with lewdness, lust, or then tension of sexuality. Intention, it all comes down to intention. Images that are exhibitionist have a motive of obtaining sexual satisfaction or to shock. So, what is the intention?

If you take photos of yourself au naturel, why do you do so? What is your need? Why do you allow others to see these images? Why the risk? All images have a purpose and meaning. However, we rarely know what the purpose and meaning of our own images are about. There is a story, a story of at least 1,000 words for each image. More often than not, the story is yet to be discovered, as the image is more about unconscious projection than that it is about conscious intention.

As for myself, the images tell the story of my reclaiming my authority rather than having the authority projected onto others. I refuse the authority of the shadows from my childhood. I refuse the authority of a church that would tell me that my naked body is sinful. I refuse to be a victim. Of course, there are laws and a broader society within which we all find ourselves. For our own safety, we find that fine line between “in your face” confrontations and in hiding from the world and our own fears.

Read the rest at the link above.  But i have to admit I am inspired to take more nudes of myself.

Tinea Versicolor

Well for the past few years i have been concerned with what looked like a weird discoloration around my groin area.

For those of you who have seen some of my pictures from earlier in this blog’s history you probably noticed the discoloration as well.  At first I thought the discoloration was due to my shaving my pubic region.  That is true but only in part.  The main reason for the discoloration is a skin condition called Tinea Versicolor.  The condition is caused when the natural fungus on a human’s skin begins to spread out of control basically.  I have included a Wikipedia link in this post so you can look at it or Google it.

To be honest i was basically being a male idiot and never went to the doctor out of a mixture of shame and just thinking it was nothing serious.  But the stuff has pretty much spread around my entire groin area from back to front.  Thankfully it never itched, but it just looked terrible to me and i was afraid anyone seeing it would be grossed out.

What finally got me to take it seriously was when i noticed it was spreading to my hips this year.  I was kind of scared at that point.  But i did have some hope.  I have a cousin who is a dermatologist, so I asked him about and he gave me his diagnosis and said i would be fine, although he was surprised when i told him it didn’t really itch at all.  He said it usually does.  So he sent me a text later with prescription for a creme that I should get to help deal with it.  The creme is called Ketoconazole and it can take a couple of months for it to clear up the condition.

Well there has been something I have noticed in the past few days.  The path and spread of the infection runs along the area where I have shaved frequently.  Noting this i realized that shaving helped to either spread the infection or helped to start it.  I don’t have any real medical evidence but the way the stuff has spread backs up my theory because i remember how i shave my genital area.  My best guess is I irritated my skin or cause small nicks and cuts and that how the stuff spread as the razor also picks up some skin whenever i shave.  I have also noticed that the areas where i sweat the most are also infected.  Thankfully Tinea Versicolor is not a contractible condition.  In others words you CANNOT spread this condition to anyone else via physical or sexual contact.

I decided to post this story on this blog and the other one, because i have noticed some pictures of naturists with the same discoloration, so i decided to post this and the pictures to help others in the naturist community out.  So yeah spread the word and if you know someone who looks like some of the pictures then you can at least help them as well.

Note:  These pictures feel really embarrassing so please don’t spread the pictures around too much.

A picture of a thousand words about being topless.

1491320788304

A person once said a picture is worth a thousand words.  And he was right, it is.  But this picture is supposed to help support the argument for women being topless in public in Sweden.  This is the same nation that fucking bends over backwards to accommodate the Muslim refugees that are swarming the country.  And with the number of rapes, and murders, tripling in the country due to Muslim refugees, why in God’s Holy Name would you want to push for topless equality at a time like this?  Do you want to give the Muslim rapefugees a easier way to target who they can rape?  Priorities here people of Sweden.  Get them, and then get them in order.

Now the next thing i have to say about this picture is how off putting the two people in the picture.  The both of them look very androgynous and like hipsters.  Why not use two older people like a hairy chested male and a average looking female?  Why does the picture use two young and somewhat ugly looking, androgynous hipsters.  When i first saw this picture i looked at the male and my first thought was, “Why do they have a flat chested woman and not so flat chested woman in this picture?  It makes no sense.”  In other words the androgyny of the male completely throws the picture off and obscures the message.  Sadly enough the Northern Europeans tendency to want to be SJW and PC destroys their own message in this case.

And so to get to the final point about this one must remember that the Topless movement does not support naturism .  It is a feminist movement that only supports WOMEN BEING ALLOWED BY LAW TO BE TOPLESS IN PUBLIC THE SAME AS MEN.   While we as naturist can support the Topless movement, do not expect the same Topless movement to come to our aid.  Remember most of the Topless movement is populated by young feminist, liberal types who flit from one social justice topic to the next with no care for the wreckage they leave behind and many of them are so body shy they’d never go totally nude in public, let alone at a nudist resort or beach.  So i say why bother supporting them unless it truly benefits us.  These same women would be the first to protest public nudity on the basis that it may trigger a transsexual or some body shy person.  After all these are the same people who think a naked, flaccid penis is some form psychological and physical aggression.  So these people will never be okay with the law allowing men to walk around naked because penises trigger them.  But some of them may be okay with women walking around nude because female body privilege and “muh patriarchy oppression” and all.

Well thats my two cents on this topic.

My Nude Space Challenge.

So how many of you have your own Nude Space?  That place you can go, be nude, enjoy being nude, and regain your inner peace, your center, etc.

Well when I was younger it used to be the YMCA, but for now I actually have a room that I go to.

So my ‘nude space’ has all the comforts of home in one room.  I just need to clean it a bit.  So show me some pics of your Nude Space in this new challenge.  I call it the Nude Space Challenge.
